Wednesday, October 26
7:30pm
Patagonia Boston
Free admission

Stop by the shop on October 26, 2011, at 7:30 pm to join us for a screening of Buck Naked Visual Works’ latest film, Velo. The film transports you around the country to witness not only five distinct and beautiful styles of bicycling riding, but the stories behind them as well. The feature will be followed by two short films, Hub at Speed (a timelapse look at the city of Boston) and Alpineglow (a retrospective on the 2009/10 ski season). We’ll also be serving up apple cider graciously provided by Red Jacket Orchards.

Velo

“Man has created many noble inventions, but few as pure and mechanically sound as the bicycle. Since the inception of man’s perfect machine, the bicycle has taken many shapes and sizes, each step of the way imbedding itself deeper into the human experience. The bicycle has seen drastic transformations in the last 30 years, innovations that have fostered lasting impacts. Velo explores different lifestyles that sprung from the bicycle’s various forms, offering perspective from a multitude of saddles: that of a free rider, a professional road cyclist, a cross-country recreational rider, a community ride organizer, and an urban commuter. The film Velo was shot on location in: Jackson, WY; Ketchum, ID; Beverly, MA; Boston, MA”

The screening of Velo will be followed by the screening of two short-films:

* Hub at Speed. A short film of timelapsed visuals mixed with introspective music to see the city of Boston in a way your naked eyes couldn’t imagine.
* Alpineglow. A retrospective look at the winter season of 2009-10. Alpineglow focuses on the finer moments of a less-than-ideal snow season, an optimistic outlook on winter that any New Englander can appreciate.
