Escape From New York

As a closet Kurt Russell fan. And who isn't when you reflect upon the memorable Snake Plyskin, Jack Burton, and Capt' Ron...I loved seeing this merging of two things I hold dear. This looks like a can't miss event for those in the big city.

Wow! This is seriously awesome.

Tokyo Fixed | The Japanese do it oh so well

Check out this sick sick sick poster created for Tokyo Fixed Gear.  I could see myself printing this, scanning, giving it some photoshop love, and then reprinting it at a much larger scale. I did it once before with an old Godzilla poster and got amazing results.

This print started out just like the image above....

From what I've been told, this is the 2nd out of 20 spots the guys shot for Prolong. Just good fun.

DIY Bicycle Sidecar

Not since the bike camper have I been this blown away by a DIY bicycle project. This sidecar is absolutely incredible. Even more impressive is the bloke (he's from across the pond) who created this masterpiece is sharing his detailed how-to instructions.

Jared Souney Design & Photography | A career to envy

Local rider and all around good guy Jon from Born to Kilo passed along his buddy Jared's site to me earlier this week. After poking around on his blog and his creative studio's site, I've come a conclusion. My life kinda stinks. Seriously, this is the sort of 'and you get paid to do this' career I need. Of course, as someone who has worked with commercial photographers in the past, including action sports specialists', I know that what Jared does is not easy.

Here is how Jared describes his studio.
SOUNEY MEDIA is a multidisciplinary creative studio in Portland, Oregon. We grew out of BMX and Skateboard cultures, and continue to be immersed today. Photography, design, film and advertising projects (both print and web) can be completed start to finish in house. We can drive creative direction and build brands from under one roof. We understand that all media has changed, and we continue to evolve along side it. We are a small studio, and we like it that way.

Here is how I describe it.
Lucky b@%$#rd.  A lucky b@%$#rd who I think should consider expanding his dominance over awesomeness by adding an accomplished art director with a wealth of experience in advertising and design...who also pens a blog about the bicycle culture. I'm just saying.

Check out some samples of where you may have seen Jared's work.
