I Love My Bike T-shirt
In conjuction with their I Love My Bike book project, Matt and Brittain teamed up with Print Brigade to bring you this very cool offering. They are available here for $20.
NYPD Confiscated Bikes on Obama Motorcade Route
Wow. NYC shows just how much they love their cyclists. Read more about these shenanigans.
Someone sent this photo to the blog This Is FYF, which reports that "citing security concerns that bikes might be secret pipe bombs, NYPD officers clipped the locks of hundreds of bikes along Houston Street this morning in preparation for President Obama's speech at Cooper Union. The bikes were unceremoniously put in the back of the truck. Onlookers were not given information as to what would become of the bikes. Happy Earth Day!"

Nice ad that uses a bicycle
Nothing more than a well written ad for a fitness studio that happens to use a bicycle in it. But, good ads and bicycles aren't often paired together so I thought I'd share. This was created by CCT Advertising out of Denver. Who incidentally are in serious need of a site redesign.
Bike Porter: Copenhagen Parts
Sarah from Fancy Seeing You Here found this one for me today. "The Bike Porter combines cool aesthetics with practical function without corrupting the clean, simple lines of your ride." No pricing listed on the Copenhagen Parts site just yet. But, definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Cyclist hating Cop on the verge getting his due process
I have to say, I'm disappointed about this one. There isn't an ounce of serve and protect in wretched display.
The trial opened for an ex-officer who maliciously and deliberately assaulted a cyclist in Time Square. This guy was an officer for 11 days before the incident. I sure hope he enjoyed it while it lasted. He falsified reports and accused the cyclist of instigating the attack. But if you watch the video below...you'll see that the evidence is irrefutable proof otherwise. You can read the complete story here at the NY TIMES.
The Fingerbang Logo: Alberto Contador has a new logo
I had to laugh when I read this this morning on the Bike Snob's site. From a design standpoint, I have to give it too them. It couldn't have been easy to create a logo out of a fingerbang. The official site, however, is a mess. So terribly overdesigned.
Can cage
Be still my heart. Someone has heard my cries in the night. Check out the Can Cage by Walnut Studiolo available here for $55.
Mongoose Cachet Review
The reviews of the much maligned $150 Mongoose Cachet (which is sold out incidentally) have begun to pour in. In the end, my thoughts are this. If it gets someone on a bike, it's a good thing. And that's that.
Read the review from Urban Velo or from The Bike Snob here.
Upcycled Hats: Faction Cycling
I received an email from the guys at Faction yesterday letting me know that they have restocked their wildly popular Upcycled Hats. The hats are a thing of beauty. They've only been available for a day and models are already selling out. Better act fast. You can get them here.
430 bikes, outfits & life
I have to admit, I had no clue who 430 was when I stumbled across the new Vans Old Skool. So, like any curious cat would, I sniffed around. It appears to be that 430 is a Japanese bmx company. Their site is a bit flashy heavy for my liking, but there are some goodies to be found if you don't mind spending the time tinkering around.
