Lance wins again!!

Lance gets results. It's just that simple. Most of us have been complaining for about a week about Mr. Kornhole. Lance, however, was involved for about 6 hours....and now he'lll be on Tony's show tomorrow discussing the bicycle and car relationship.

Lance thinks Tony Kornheiser is an idiot

Back on March 11 when Tony Kornhole made his ignorant comments about cycling those of us here in the District were up in arms. We tweeted and blogged and passed around are new found loathing for Tony with amazing zeal. But, lets be honest, our voices just aren't that loud. But, some time has passed now and Tony's words have made their way to Texas. More importantly, Tony's words have been heard by Lance Armstrong. And with 22,458,006 followers on Twitter alone....when Lance talks the world listens. Lance is rallying his personal peleton and urging them to attack.

Buckle up tight in that precious car of yours Tony....I think you're in for a bumpy ride.

"I don't take my car and ride on the sidewalk becaue I understand that's not for my car. Why do these people think that these roads were built for bicycles?"

Why does the state of Maryland hate MTB racing

Yesterday I signed up for the Greenbrier Challenge XC race only to find out hours later that I was scheduled to be in Savannah for another engagement. So...no go on Greenbrier. Upon hearing the news I immediately went onto Bikereg.com to find another event. My disappointment was quickly replaced by frustration. According to Bike Reg, there isn't a single XC race scheduled for the rest of the year in MD. How can that be? We haven't even reached spring and the season is over in the state of Maryland? I've got to believe that some other events are in the works and just haven't been finalized. Please tell me there are other races coming. Please.

Applying 10,000,000 logos to a Trek Madone: aka Team RadioShack

I had this video passed along to me today. Pretty interesting to see how the Team RadioShack Madone is dressed up. Not only do all those logos make it painful for a designer to create....wait to you see all the additional work it causes the painters to do.

Holeshot BMX zine

A while back when I stumbled across the future of freestyle bmx I also came across Nick Ferraira on an ESPN page. Nick is a BMXer, photographer and the maker of zine called Holeshot BMX. More importantly he was born in Taunton, Mass. Having been born in Taunton myself I immediately had an infinity for him. I reached out to him, congratulated him on his nice work, and who knows I may have even talked about chourico and linquica. Anyway, a month or so later I received my first issue of his zine. It's very cool stuff.

This is what Holeshot is 'About'

It even has good a recipe

THE TAUNTON FLAG | The first flag to represent any dissention amongst the Colonies, this flag was raised in the town of Taunton, Massachusetts as a symbol of the colonies frustration and unwillingness to be persecuted. The flag was the first in a series that would warn the British that the Colonies were a force to be reckoned with, and would not accept the any loss of their rights or freedom. The bold words “Liberty and Union” reflect the original sentiment of the Colonists, which was to be treated as equal citizens of the British Empire, (“No taxation with representation!”) rather then be excluded from it.

Return of the Rat

As a former and current bmxer I couldn't resist picking up this sweet shirt from RVCA while in Key West. They call it......Return of the Rat. Definitely turns head in the office.

Cool image used in Insight 51 Denim campaign

Nothing terribly bicycle related here...just a cool ad campaign that uses a bicycle in it. That of course, is enough for me.

Back, I mean…Fat in the district

After a week of fun in the sun, I returned home to gloomy skies, cool temperatures and a scale that had some shocking news. Since last summer when I was riding at or around 185lbs I have gained a cool 21.6lbs. Wow. Talk about a wakeup call. While other riders were hard at work on trainers, I was hard at work emptying the pantry and making sure the sofa was firmly planted on the floor. But, enough is enough. It's time to get serious. My racing season officially start today...or maybe tomorrow, I'm feeling like a nap is needed. LOL. Needless to say, once I get my BMC on the road (waiting on a braze mount deraillieur) I will be logging some hefty miles (pun intended). In the meantime, come rain or shine I will be riding my MTB to and from work daily...along with the added 20mile loop. In addition to that, I plan to adopt the Herschel Walker workout. Of course, I'll likely do 1/20 of what he does. My goal is to drop around 3 lbs per week until I reach my riding weight. So farewell Dunkin Donuts, Five Guys, Georgetown Cupcake, Uncle Julios and the rest of you sons of bitches who have turned me into a plump little cherub.

Fierce Cat-cycle

As I was saying farewell to Key West this morning I caught a glimpse of this fierce cat-cycle.
