More Wood!
I was tracking down the designer of the t-shirt that I recently purchased....and am still waiting for. Seriously MySoti!! I purchased that tee on August 7th and you're still processing the order! I'll never go thru you guys again. Sorry. That's just horrible service.
But, back to the designer. Turns out its done by a guy in MN. Goes by the name WORKERMAN. He makes some killer shirts. If you happen to be a designer who likes bikes...then he's the motherlode. Aside from the tees though, he makes some sweet looking wooden handle bars.

Wood. Seriously.
This is one bike that I really really really need to ride. As someone who has been making furniture and building things for almost as long as I've been pedaling, I'm well aware of the impressive load bearing and stress resistant qualities of wood. But a wooden bicycle? Wait...a hollow wooden bicycle!. Come on...how can that be? Check out Renova Bikes to learn more about this beautiful machine.

The lastest weight shaving technique? Or just another clever theft deterrent?
I found this the other day while reading through the Bike Snob's blog. Either this person is really poor or completely fed up with having seats stolen off his bike.

Hell of the West jersey
I was thumbing through the outrageously priced items in a recent Colorado Cyclist catalog with my usual disdain when suddenly I found myself gazing at the sweet jersey worn by David Summers in American Flyers. I love that movie. Breaking Away gets all the press as the best cycling movie, and sure, it's great and all. But, does it have the same rewatchability that American Flyers does? I don't think so. At $79.95 this may be the cheapest item available from Colorado Cyclist.

Like Nike+ but better
I hate to run. It hurts my feet, my back, my spirit. But, I'm always so jealous when my girlfriend comes home after a run using the Nike+ technology. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to stats. I crave and consume them. So, I was thrilled to learn that there was a free iPhone app called RunKeeper that actually had been designed with cyclists in mind. The app isn't perfect, but it works pretty well and provides me with some interesting information.

Back in the saddle again
It's been about a month since my last ride. Doctor's orders and Sarah made me stick to it this time. But. I met with him yesterday and he pretty much told me it was either surgery that likely won't work or daily pain. So, I'm just opting for the daily pain and will now jump right back into my routine of riding, ice, heating pad. Good times.
The bmx season is lost for me this year. I ride so infrequently that I think there is no hope for improvement. I'm still going to try and squeeze in another race or two if possible. I love being on that GHP so any chance I can find to ride I will. Speaking of loving that GHP...I can't tell you how many times I find myself contemplating candy apple green colored purchases. Bright shoes, bright sunglasses... You name it.
On a sad note (more sad than the ineffectiveness of the 3 epidurals injections to my spine) I found a career ending crack in the headtube of my Casati road bike. I've never owned a bike that I was as instantly comfortable on. But, unless I want to wind up with a fork through my heart it's time to let her go.
A dark day indeed
