Another hour sweating my face off. Cranked up the tension today..it slowed my cadence down considerably, but I need to build strength in my legs right now...not speed.

If I'm going to be stuck riding at night on the stationary bike..I need to start making these workouts do more for me. Time to start climbing the levels.
February 22 (30 miles in Winter Conditions)

Did something I'll never do again today. That's ride in the snow and cold rain. 30 miserable miles. Started off feeling pretty good with the group. But...it turned out that I was riding with the A group today. Their pace was just too much for me. I riding right with them for a while, even doing my part pulling from time to time. But at about mile 15 I started to fade. By the time I got to mile 16 I was on my own. So..rather than head back I decided to tackle the hill that usually crushes my spirit.
On a side note, dropped the bike off for it's first ever cleaning and maintanence. Found out that I'm running a 'racing' setup on my cranks and cassette. So..if my legs can ever get stronger I could be a pretty fast rider.
February 21
30 minutes on the stationary bike. Lame.
February 19
No riding. Today was a yoga day. 1hr of sweating all over myself like Patrick Ewing. Good stuff.
February 17
1hr spin class today. This time I really tried to push myself thru the pain. I realized that biggest difference between spin and real cycling is just that. When you're on the road..you have no choice but to push through the pain.
It's snowing today..and the weather says snow for the weekend. I really hope not. I'm excited to get back out there on that group ride and start to improve.

Road with the Bicycle Place Velo club today. Man am I slow. Really enjoyed myself when I wasn't suffering to keep pace. This is going to become a regular ride for me. Met a couple of cool guys as well. All in all it was a great day.

Ran to the gym just to say I did it. I really didn't push myself terribly hard.

Today was a back therapy day. Spent an hour getting poked with needles at the acupuncture. Then followed that up with a 1hr yoga class. Might right a little tomorrow night and then take it easy on saturday in preperation for my sunday ride.
